KaS Product

Are a Coldwave duo from Nancy (France), founded in the early 80's by Spatsz (French) (synths and rhythm machines) and Mona Soyoc (American) (vocals and guitar).
Spatsz worked at a psychiatric hospital previously while Mona worked with a jazz band before meeting Spatsz. Together they formed an amazing union between Sexiness & Synth.
Bangs and additude!

KaS Products music is incredibly slick and produced flawlessly, something that is not typical for a "Coldwave" synth band.

Here are the first two full length releases...

ERASERHEAD!

One of the most amazing and important movies to EVER be released!

Don't make fun.

Its true, the movie gets under your skin , and brain. The creepily atmospheric soundtrek twists your nerves into tight knots, and the visual is just stunning!

If you already don't own it, please go get it used on A'zon.

You HAVE to love the lady in the radiator. I just love saying that term..

Here is the amazing sound trek with extras:

ERASERHEAD

The next time you bump into Sissy Spacek give her a big hug, not because she is soo awesome, but if it wasn't for her Eraserhed may not have been made!!!

Go do some research..

Cosmic Overdose

Have you ever had one?.. It's great!
This has to be one of the most underrated Swedish gems out there. Great array of synth punk and experimental sounds, manic at times, but lots of fun.

Space Punk! yeah that's what we'll call it!

Schaltkreis Wassermann

If Moroder and Enya took acid in a studio the result would be Schaltkreis Wassermann. They were a psychedelic-electronic musical project of Stella Space and PJ Wassermann in the 80's.
Weeks and months in their studio exploring sound and consciousness resulting in PSYCHOTRON a ground breaking album in 1982 showcasing a lot of what was to become mainstream in electronic music and then some.
PSYCHOTRON was sold all over the world as a vinyl album and made it to numer 7 of the British synthesizer charts in Melody Maker, in the company of Kraftwerk, Klaus Schulze and Tomita.

I was recommended this release by the nice people over at OTHER MUSIC.. Thanx!

Fela Johnson

Check out this Fela.. Fela Johnson.

I found this "Gem" a couple of years ago in a Miami Thrift store (BTW a great source of all kinds of Vinyl)
Besides this interesting DEVO_ESQUE release in 1981, he did a couple of songs for the (ahh heeem) classic movie Ghoulies!
This mini LP explores... Rap / Synth pop, and New Wave.
Think Iggy Pop meets DEVO.

Strange and amusing!

Leda

Leda was actually composed by Peter Baumann (Ex-Tangerine Dream) in 1978. This super dreamy Synth Space Disco is quite a Moroder-esque assassination with interesting female vocals. She is not credited on the Lp anywhere, so I don't know if it is a concept album or that freaky lady on the cover is a singer called Leda!!

Tokyo Mobile Music

TMM was conceived by David Claridge, who apparently traveled around Tokyo with a hand-held Sony Walkman (Ahh the old Walkman) and inserted snippets of ambient city sounds and overheard conversations between the cuts which provides a unique segway to the album.

Great array of noisy wave, synthpop, and experimental sounds.

This Lp Compilation was released in 1982 in the Netherlands

Future World Orchestra

I have another Dutch treat for you..
This Duo from the Netherlands put out some sweet dreamy Disco/Sleeze in which I feel Daft Punk totally "borrowed" from.
Future World Orchestra uses: ARP 2600, Polymoog, Korg 3100, Korg MS-20 and ARP sequencers. For the feeling of Quiddity..

Ton Lebbink

So in 1978 Mecano is formed by Dirk Polak and Pieter Kooyman. The band is influenced by the British punk rock scene. The single Face Cover Face is released on the band's own No Fun label. In 1981 Ton Lebbink pursuits a solo career and releases this interesting No Wave / New Wave / Minimal treat "Luchtkastelen". It's awesomely bleak, and will appeal to all the synthatics out there

Don't hate, cos I'm sharing!

First of all if you don't already know Vinyl-on-demand, GO and find out!! Follow the links..

SO

Casettencombinat West-Berlin 1980 - 81
This three-LP retrospective of the Berlin-based Cassettencombinat label covers its more interesting post-punk/industrial underground rarities from 1980-81. The compiler, Kiddy, who ran the label and was part of the band Sprung Aus Den Wolken, has managed to assemble a body of truly refreshing early 80s music. Daring and experimental, Cassettencombinat’s artists dived head-first into recording with punk sensibilities, basic instruments and early synth tones, creating music which was often raw, with dark edges and paranoid toppings. A beautifully produced, pizza box-style set contains the three albums.
