Ronny is some synthy lady, with lots of breathy moments, and seductive sleeze beats.
Ronny used to be a Top French Model. Ronny was brought up in the grim Northern industrial area of France and left home at 14 to go to Paris, there lying about her age and doing terrible jobs. Took dancin classes and jobs then stopped everything and started to write songs. Club entrepreneur Rusty Egan met Ronny in the Paris club Privelege and co-produced with Midge Ure her best release, Vangelis, Georg Kajanus and Peter Godwin also produced for her. Ronny, a masculine name, is the blitz girl who loved to dress up as a boy and also appear on the Ultravox 'Station' record sleeve.
If you are not familiar with this chanteuse, now is the time, because I have the best of her 3 releases.
Here's a great comp nugget I totally forgot about. Back in 1985 I HAD TO HAVE this when I saw it at Bleeker Bobs. It was hyped up real good at the shop, and did not dissapoint!! I got some good vinyl LP's, 12" and 7" there , but as soon as the drug paraphernalia came in in the late 80's it was bad news ever since.
A great comp with weird experimental soundscapes, jittery No Wave goodness, sweet indie pop, and dreary synth masterpieces.

Somnambulist: an abnormal condition of sleep in which motor acts (as walking) are performed... Sleepwalking!
No sleepwalking here.. Just some real early forms of electro, with that out of key male vocal we all seem to love.
This was a cassette only release by a dude from the UK Marc Burghgraeve. Not too much info on this one.
So I am a little pissed!
This "distributor" in Canada where I WAS getting some of these gems that I have been posting seems to be quite bogus. After doing the research that I love to do on all these bands, it seems that it all comes from a couple of sources here on Blogspot.com.
So this so called "distributor" has been selling me rehashed music that I can probably find free if I had many years to troll these blogsites. AHHH I'm soo MAD! I usually pride myself on being a "streetwise" person, and HATE to be suckered. This person managed to swindle about $65.00 from me, not too much, but still! I choose not to post his so called distributorship nor his name and paypal acct. I do believe what comes around goes around. Something I always seem to notice is you HAVE to be an asshole to succeed in business, I still refuse to believe this...
OK I feel better
So
If you want this electronic Coldwave gem step on over here...

The other..
The Chris of Chris & Cosey, and Throbbing Gristle. Definitely one of the Industrial music pioneers. After the demise of TG Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni-Tutti formed the Conspiracy International record label CTI (with backing from Rough Trade) and began working together as Chris & Cosey. During this period Chris Carter put out some solo releases that are verry underrated..
I had this one for a while, and totally forgot how well it suits this blog. It's a great mixture of intelligent audible industrial beats with "HINTS" of early Rave rhythms, great samples too. A moody adventure in drone and dance, it will creep you out then lift you up!..
I got this from a friend way up north, from were this release originated from. It is a bootleg copy because the original goes for 4-$700.00 bux on e-bay!
WHY??!!
I mean it's good... And it is rare (500 copies)
BUT C'MON!!
Imagine this...
HE: "Oh this came in the mail for you" ME: "that must be my e-bay purchase" HE: "what did you get?" ME "oh just this rare synthpop E.P. from Canada..Only 500 were made" HE: "how much?" ME: Just $500.00 dollars"
I'll give you my 2 cents after I paste this Japanese translation for pure amusement.
REMEMBER.. You don't have to read it all, its fun to skim!

WOW.. I LOVE THAT!!
So!
The Pop Group.. I guess they would/could be considered experimental, but there is so much more going on. Dub and Industrial, No Wave and Art Rock, with so much more in between. The vocal stylings of lead singer Mark Stewart is undecipherable, but yet so haunting, like Shamanistic ramblings under this unique soundtrek...
Today we have the first two Lp releases of The Pop Group, lots of primitive rhythms going on here..
Here we are.. Yet again, pushing my comps down your throats... This time i'll be pushing 7 inches of Pleasure, a unique array of leftfield A & B sides of strange one and two and maybe three off bands. A chockful of nuts this is with some avant wave/punk/synthpop/and a whole lot more. I am almost sure that none of these 7"ers are regrind, just some pure toxic Virgin Vinyl...yeah right!

From Long Island NY, Industry is one of the few synth bands to emerge from the charming Island. I saw them perform at the Peppermint Lounge in the early 80's, and from what I remember they put on a intense show! The music is a spastic electronic masterpiece, with enough swirl and Arp to please the Cold Wave that runs through your veins...
Industry - Logging Time E.P - 1980 - Long Island N.Y.!
Department S evolved from a previous punk/ska combo, Guns For Hire. They were both led by the enigmatic Vaughan Toulouse, who remained the frontman and driving force. Department S were the darlings/demons dudes of Stiff Records. Slated to be the "Next Best Thing" poor subsequent sales and differences of opinion with their record label, resulted in the band being dropped by Stiff, but not before £50,000 was reputedly spent on what was to be their debut album Sub-Stance.
Here is a mutation of the full Lp and some B-sides too.
In the mid-1970s, Robin Crutchfield moved from Ohio to New York to participate in the growing conceptual and performance art movement. After several performances in galleries and alternative spaces which received critical acclaim, he broke away from the scene to pursue music...
In 1979, after having formed the infamous ULTRA SNOBBY No Wave band DNA with Arto Lindsay and Ikue Mori, and recorded a single for Lust/Unlust and four tracks for the Eno-produced "No New York" album, and having gigged with DNA for nearly a year, Robin determined the band was moving in a direction counter to his own interests and left to form his own project, Dark Day...
Dark Day music is rather advanced for its time, it really dives into deep underground sounds. RLC's music explores synthy soundscapes, and hypnotic percussions, but yet has that cold synth bleakness that was NYC in the early 80's. The good old days...
I found this slice of heaven a couple of years ago at the WFMU Record and CD Fair! If in the NYC area I highly recomend you go..
There is some serious psychedelic synth stuff up in here!! Minuit Polonia have an awesome sound all their own, groovey New Wave Synth Pop...
Here's a Spanish page I translated about Minuit Polonia.. Wordy and strange..but fun!
After the explosion of the movida madrileña, during the peak moments of a stirring musical moment that the state faltered Spanish, began to appear gangs who rejected the parameters of classic rock and, in some cases, were used to fund in practice new and innovative musical experiences, closer to noise than melody. Following in the footsteps of the avant-garde pioneer Esplendor Geometric (early division of The Aviadror Dro and their skilled workers) were emerging timidly other bands: the Andalusians Neo Zealand (then design Corbusier), La Rioja Vertical Dade, the ovetenses Zang Tumb Tumb and Madrid 429 groups such as deception or Minuit Poland, the latter, a formation that will be achieved other in achieving their laminated see songs.
The Debu de Minuit Poland occurred in 1983 through a single three cuts and published by DRO containing items "Ibiza below zero," "Radio Rockola" and "Enter". That arrogant exercise of noise-rock not convinced almost no one, rallying strongly criticised in the music press, which branded the group of pure 'post', although the single sold well to be included in the package of new groups febrile independent state and were distributed throughout the country thanks to Pancoca or other 'companies' heirs of their work channelling of new groups. The group defined his music as psycho-tech, "to dance neurons," pointing to the music press in 1983 the painter Luis Life, vocalist and ideologue of the banda.
Undoubtedly, Minuit Poland was a group starting with its pretentious name, a combination of an alien grandiose (to which he could glimpse dyes' cults') and the name of a land with a strong content-historic tragedy, perhaps chosen by the banda due to a prevailing fashion at that time and that was geared towards vindication conglomerate elements of the cold war over Nazism and Soviet and Japanese imaginary. And it is that words like Berlin, Warsaw or, even, Poland grass were 1983 European rock. His music was deliberately deranged, full of synthetic sounds and having a certain acid humor that was far from the 'militant seriousness' of other bands who shared their same parameters and devotion to the formations as Cabaret Voltaire and The Residents.
The audacity of Minuit Poland seemed to have no limits. When the audience barely had time to digest his first delivery, also in 1983, edited a second job, 'Ibiza Underground' (on an original theme of the poet Xaime Noguerol), a maxi-single that delve into what has already been published and which included an unrecognizable version of 'Mercedes Benz' Janis Joplin. A year later, he edited DRO and his first album (a mini-Elep) entitled 'Special Defects', a job even more convoluted and difficult to listen to the past and that was even with a single support:' Reagan Roll '/ 'Lust for life'. Two years later, in 1986, their models seduced an entire multinational, CBS, which delegated Twins in the publication of an entire LP, 'Music for Chameleons' work that included six long cuts including' Madrid 6:16 ',' Truman Capote 'and adaptation to their field of classic' Caroline Says' Lou Reed. After this vinyl group did not burn, although recently some of its themes begin to be included in the compilation of pop songs decade of the Hispanic eighties.
Neva is a wicked force to be reckoned with. Like a mad dichotomy of Alien Sex Fiend & Klaus Nomi, melded in a psycho industrial shell that was nested by a higher synth being!
Every country needs their freaky goth dude, and Neva is king of the electro-batcave sound of France. His name is Jacquy Bitch, and well in his 50's is still releasing great Gothic nuggets!
Their sound of distortion, and the use of the Coldwave elements give Neva a permanent place on the electronic synth agenda.
I wish I had a pic of the very sexy slick sounding group!!
Second Layer were an electronic, machine-based outlet for Adrian Borland and Graham Bailey, both being founding members of "The Sound". Second Layer has a great early synthy experimental yet wave-y sound. If you are a fan of Department S, you will love 2ND Layer, still with key elements reminiscent of The Sound..
Get the first 2 7" and the first Lp, which I feel are the best releases..
This little synth gem hailed out of the UK in 1982. If INXS went synth pop it would sound like this!

Here is something I found lurking in the racks, KON-G-NIAL - Keine Zeit / Puls Der Stadt ("No Time / Pulse The City") contains very minimalist casiotone synth songs. Not too much info on this lil Austrian duo, except that this and a 7" was released in Austria in 1982 alongside the NDW greats at the time (Falco/Nene/Peter Schilling) thus gettin lost in the shuffle. A great treat for all you to enjoy!
