Michael Sembello
Would you like some Chardonnay with your synth?
You know who he is..
I don't know why I chose to post this...
Lets not mention that song!
Michael Sembello was born in Philadelphia in 1954. A talented songwriter, guitar player and vocalist, he started his career joining Stevie Wonder's band in the first seventies. Later on a became a well known session player for the likes of Sergio mendes, the Jackson 5, Stephen Bishop, Randy Crawford, David Sanborn and many others.
So hop on your electronic Yacht, and and whip out the Vienna sausages, cause Sembello turned out the electro jams that mom would have approved.
Enjoy!

I never knew what the hell you meant by chadonnay" synthpop, until I listened to it...not exactly my cuppa gin, but I actually enjoyed two of the songs. Nice covers too.

Fantasmi. Michael has been the best known secret in the music bussiness. Being with great artists he suddenly gained much attention with Flashdance and Maniac in 83 but he's not just it. "Automatic Man" is one of my favorites and "First Time" (also from Bossa Nova Hotel) had so much airplay time back in the day in my country. I remember it very clearly when I was in 10th grade.
It is Chardonnay Synthypop at its best. And getting better with time. Thanks for showing his work for the rest of the world. Keep up the good work!
